Platform

Shopify

Shopify is where we build first. Merchants there own their product copy, the platform exposes it through a supported API, and the App Store handles billing — so a compliance problem can be found, priced and fixed inside the tool the merchant already uses.

The task was already being done by hand.

German merchants were rewriting product copy ahead of Directive (EU) 2024/825 by reading it themselves, one product at a time, with no reliable way to know which phrases were actually prohibited.

01

121,343 stores

Germany is the third-largest Shopify market, and overwhelmingly small and mid-market merchants rather than enterprise.

02

61.9% affected

Measured, not estimated: we audited 200 real German stores and 122 carried at least one prohibited claim.

03

A dated deadline

27 September 2026. Compliance work concentrates around a date, which is when merchants go looking for a tool.

04

Read-only access

The application requests product read access and nothing else. It cannot alter a catalogue, and never sees orders or customers.
